Tree frog, there are small isolated populations in Csík
Frogs and newts are very special creatures and little known in Romania. Our research revealed 13 species in Csík, which is a relatively large number at this altitude. This is due to landscape diversity which ranges from flat floodplains to high mountains.
One of my most special observations is the rediscovery of the spring stream migration of the common frog. It's something like the migration of the salmonids, but it's downstreams, and the frogs don't die after spawning. (Only if killed by people for their legs.)
It's an unusual sight to see hundreds of frogs swimming and drifting in streams
During this part of their migration they look like floating stones
